Obituary of Harry Oscar Marshall
Marshall, Harry Oscar Jr., 89 of Bridgetown died peacefully May 24,2019 in Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Born in Clarence on the family farm, August 17, 1929, he was a son of the late Harry Oscar and Annie Isadora (Gesner) Marshall. Harry was a wonderful man who met you with a big smile, a hearty laugh and a warm heart. He was the owner/operator of the Red and White store in Bridgetown for 40 years with Barb and his lifelong friend Blaine at his side. Harry was an active member of St. James Anglican Church for many years. He loved music, cameras and photography, time spent outdoors gardening (especially the roses) and feeding the birds. The times that he enjoyed most were the times spent with his family and dear friends.
Harry is survived by his wife, of 54 years, the former Barbara Hennessy; sons, Joel (Lynn) of Hammonds Plains and their children Nicholas, Taylor and Olivia; Jay (Amie) of Bridgetown and their children Allison and Lauren. He was predeceased by sisters, Alice and Edith; brothers, Raleigh, Lawrence, Warren and Dennis.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at the St. James Anglican Church in Bridgetown with Rev. Deborah Lonergan- Freake officiating with a reception to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made in Harry’s memory to the Clean Annapolis River Project, Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of choice.
