Harry was a sweet man! He was very kind to our family when we moved here so dad could be the Anglican priest at St Jame`s! He was a special part of the heritage of our sweet little town because everyone went to the Red and White. We all ONLY shopped local back then!
May the warm happy memories pull you through the difficult days ahead!
Hugs, love, and blessings to all the family!

That smile! Such wonderful memories came to mind this morning as I remembered Harry when I lived in Bridgetown, and his kindness to my family. Later, when visiting on holidays, I always hurried to the Red and White for that welcoming "you are home" feeling. He spread such a light. Praying for you Barb and the family. God bless!

Barb, Joel and Jay, I was truly saddened to read Harry's obituary. He was one of a kind, always smiling, mischievous grin. I remember well when my dad would take me on the milk truck with him and we would stop in to the Red and White. Harry used to let me sit as his antique roll top desk and play on the adding machine. He would always say " wow, we made a lot of money today Kiddo." He had a presence about him that made you feel important, he would stop what he was doing and actually talk to me. As a little girl, this was a big deal. I will always remember his kindness and the amazing laugh of his. Please know that so many people share in your sorrow for the world has lost a great human.

Our sympathies are with Barb and all of Harry's loved ones. Seems that we have known Harry most of our lives , to him my name was always Pastey , Harry's trademark for me. He was so happy go lucky whether in his general store or out on a physical walk. Harry was a genteel man with a hearty laugh who loved people. He will not be soon forgotten . An icon has gone to rest with the angels , Harry , we will remember you ! You fought the brave fight. xoxo

I was saddened to learn of Harry's passing. Though I was absent from Bridgetown for many years, I remember so clearly his great laugh and good nature when both he and Barb ran the Red and White store. Yes, he certainly loved music: as a member of the Adult Choral Choir which my mother Mary conducted, he never failed to tell me how much enjoyment he got from being a member of that group. I extend my sympathy to Barb and the family at this sad time.

Dear Barb, Joel, and Jay - so very sad! I have so many fond memories of Harry: the Red & White, the choir, the parties in the backyard, his contribution to the life of the Town. I remember his generosity, his great big smile, the twinkle in his eye, his 'Santa Clause' laugh, his King Wenceslas and my Page. Then there was that huge valentine and the flying sheet music episode. Always loved to hear the Cape Breton vacation stories with the descriptions of the wonderful food. He and Blaine had the best prime rib, the best corned beef, the best pate - I miss those things so much. And I will never forget his many Lawson e-cards that always picked me up when I was down.
He was a gentle man and a gentleman. To you three - his pride and joy - I send my deepest sympathy. I weep for you, and I weep with you.
