Obituary of Stanley Witham Godfrey
Godfrey, Stanley Witham - 98 of Bridgetown, passed away February 17, 2019, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Born in Clarence, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late Jabez and Mary (Witham) Godfrey. During the Second World War he served in the army overseas. After returning home in 1946 he worked for MW Graves, Cornwallis Naval Base and Acadian Distillers. Stanley enjoyed fixing and making things, some might have called him a Jack-of- All –Trades. Stanley took great pride in his family, work and hobbies. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Stanley and his wife Muriel were members of the Bridgetown Baptist Church and where custodians for over 35 years. He enjoyed many hobbies especially amateur radio, holding the call sign VE1WW. He is survived by his son, Wayne (Judy), Sackville; grandchildren, Matthew, Steven and Sarah; sister-in-law, Gertrude Godfrey, Paradise. He is predeceased by his wife, Muriel (Barteaux); brother, Shirley; sister, Ruth Neily. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. A funeral service will be held 2pm Friday February 22, 2019 in Bridgetown Baptist Church, Bridgetown with Rev. Brian Wallace officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations made in Stanley’s memory may be sent to Alzheimer’s Society.
