Obituary of Robert Nason

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nason, Robert "Bob" Wade- February 5, 1949- September 19, 2011 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce Bob lost his race with melanoma on September 19, 2011. Born in Saint John, NB and raised in Halifax, Bob fell in love with the hotel business during a summer job in Lake Louise. Following graduation from Dalhousie University, he returned to the Rockies and eventually made his way to Vancouver where he made his career with Hilton, CN, Canadian Pacific, and Fairmont Hotels& Resorts. Making his dream of "Freedom 55" a reality, he retired to his beloved Nova Scotia and adopted Bridgetown as his home where he became involved in a variety of community projects. He reveled in his new profession as amateur carpenter and landscaper, and a trek on his ride-on would produce a grin from ear-to-ear. A sports savant, master waffle maker, cookie monster, and mentor to many, Bob's proudest accomplishment was his son Scott. The family rock and a loyal friend, Bob leaves his wife Nancie Hall, son Scott in Vancouver; brothers: Kenneth (Shirley) and Ian (Cathy) and an extended family of nieces and nephews. We already miss his mischievous smile, wicked wit, advice and most of all, his love. Our appreciation and thanks is extended for the compassionate care of the many who assisted along the way, with special gratitude to Dr. Lori Burgess, Dr. Drew Bethume, the VON and our "earth angel" Victoria. In lieu of flowers , please consider a donation in Bob's memory to the Bridgetown and Area Community Fund, or any or the following organizations whose resources made it possible for him to stay at home; Canadian Red Cross, the VON, or Mid-Valley Palliative Care. A service celebrating the life of Bob will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 1, 2011 from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. On line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
