Obituary of William Truman Ellis
~~Ellis, William Truman – 71, passed away November 2, 2017 at the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born in Port Wade, NS, he was a son of the late Loren and Jessie (McGrath) Ellis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ethel (Magarvey) Ellis; sons, Rod (Pam), Jay (Carrie); grandchildren, Sarah, Sydney, Patrick and Hallie; siblings, Joyce (Claire), Dorothy (Gene), Percy (Diane), Stephen (Rose), Nancy (Robert); sister in-law, Peg Ellis; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings, Hilda, Pauline, Lawrence, Emma, Robert, Roger, Jessie and Charles. William was a member of the Parker’s Cove Baptist Church and sang in the Men’s choir. His passion was music. William played harmonica, guitar and piano. He took pleasure in singing at the senior’s complex with Layton & Bill. William was a hockey coach in Ontario and Nova Scotia. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, crafts and painting pictures. He loved camping with family on the South Shore. He worked at many jobs over the years including Dupont Canada and McLaughlin Estate in Ontario. In Nova Scotia he worked in the fishing industry and for the past 23 years he ran his own lawn care business. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday November 6, 2017 at the Parker’s Cove Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff George and Pastor Herb Anderson officiating, Interment to follow at Parker Mountain Cemetery. Reception at the Parker’s Cove Church. Family flowers only. Donations in William’s memory may be made to the Annapolis Community Health Centre Palliative Care Unit or the charity of one’s choice.
