Dear Daniel, Aron, Bridget, and entire Foley Family, Marc and I wanted to express our sincere respect and sadness on the loss of your Dad, brother, grandfather and our awesome neighbor. Truly a Port Wade original. We purchased our home in 2003. Your father, reached out to us, and became a dear friend when we were putting down roots in Port Wade. Over the years, we always knew Nolen was there and would inform us of any issues or concerns related to our home. That alone was such a relief since we live far away. Personally, I enjoyed our many conversations or quiet moments after dinner, sitting out by the fire or just sitting under our walnut tree experiencing the mid-day breeze, and this year relishing “our new deck. “ Your Dad shared with me the best things about Port Wade. I will always be grateful for his constant friendship and genuine spirit. Quiet and accepting. He was so very proud of his children and always spoke “loudly” of his grandchildren and of his life and history. I was honored to hear, share and learn about it. I valued his time with me and our family when they visited as well. I cannot say enough about your Dad and his openness to our family, since we were outsiders. He made me feel like” I was part of the community” Nolen will surely never be forgotten in our home. I look forward to sharing with you “all” our personal memories and times with your beloved “father, brother, grandfather. I know he is at peace, since he always said he” would be.” Much love and respect, Dana & Marc Kaplan
