Bell, Hazel Mary – 91, of Bear River, passed away Tuesday August 30, 2016, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Olive (Bishop) Buckler. Mom was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who spent much of her time helping those in need. Prior to her marriage she was a school teacher. For many years she was a Sunday school teacher, a life member of the Bear River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, involved with church and community organizations. Hazel loved to knit, quilt and other handiwork. She made wedding cakes, was a great cook and loved to prepare large family meals. She is survived by sons, Arden Bell, Halifax; Blair (Cathy) Bell, Lapland and Kerry (Dawna) Bell, Bear River; granddaughters, Ashley Leonard (Matt) and Emma Bell-Carruthers (Henry); great grandchildren, Logan, Orion and Ainsley; sister, Roxy Potter, Nictaux. She was predeceased by, husband, Cecil Bell Jr. “Junnie” (1996); brothers, Gerald Buckler and Donald Buckler; sisters, Dorothy Isles and Doris Maxine Buckler. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday September 2, in Bear River Baptist Church, with Rev, Earl Waterman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge and Jackie Kenrick for the loving care provided to mom over the last 19 months.
