Dear Marty I heard of Stan's passing, my condolences to you and your family. I do remember Stan very well and the patience he had to teach people like me the basics of the computer. The commitment you two showed in making Cornwallis a friendly place. You and Stan have touched very many people. Lots of strenght in the coming months Louise Metcalfe formerly of 519 Harbourview drive Cornwallis

Marty, and family, Am so sorry to hear the news. I am in Florida and as a result will not be able to attend the celebration of Stan's life on the 25th. That said, I want to pass a few words and thoughts. I considered Stan a close personal friend who had an impact on me both professionally and as a person. Although we didn't have a great relationship starting out in ARG, (the "old Chief sorting out the young L/S")we became close colleagues and more importantly friends while at ADAC. I still cherish the memories of those "fishing/poker/golf/beer" trips we took to your cottage. Nor will I ever forget the "fun filled 6 weeks" we spent together in Washington DC on course. Do you recall, when he had to phone and ask for money because we didn't have enough for a cab to get to the DC airport to catch our flight home? Dam we had fun. I can honestly say he had very positive impact on both my career and my personal life. I learn't much from him and respected him immensely, as both a Chief and a friend. This evening, I will get both a cigar, and beer; sit- down in a corner, and toast and remember a very dear friend. God bless you, and know both he and you are in our thoughts. Regards George Dowler CPO1 (Ret'd)

My heart goes out the family and Friends of one outstanding sailor and Chief. I had the pleasure of working for Stan when he was Fleet School Chief. He was one very fair Chief who really knew how to look after his people. I remember when he retired he said no kic-nacs in the trailer and no pictures haven't the room. God bless and remember all the great memories Yours Earle
