We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Wanda Joy Choquette (Best), 76, of Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, who passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2024. Born on May 15, 1948, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, to Leslie and Edna Best.  Wanda was a spirited and determined individual who carved her own path in life.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Oakley and Kellie Smith, and her cherished grandchildren, Léa, Laura, Nico, Shane, Hunter, and Luis. She also leaves behind her adored great-granddaughter, Analia.

Remembered for her resilience, energy, and generosity, Wanda made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends, each a cherished family member in their own right.

A simple obituary cannot fully encapsulate Wanda’s life, but it serves as a tribute to a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was greatly loved and will be missed. Her spirit, forever young, found its purest joy in the presence of her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 13th, at 4:00 PM at the Port Royal Legion, Branch 21.

We honor Wanda’s love of animals, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wanda’s memory to your local SPCA.
