I volunteer at the veterans unit and had the pleasure of hanging out with Russell. He helped us with the cooking classes on Wednesdays. He also helped plant veggies this spring. He will be greatly missed.

Russell you were the greatest. Cared for everyone. You were so special to your caregivers. We will never eat chips or cheeses again without thinking of you. Miss you. I know you are helping someone in heaven. Rest easy my friend

Mom called you Uncle Don, and spoke of you often. I finally had the privilege of meeting this much loved uncle not that long ago. I remember when I first saw you, and I told you that you looked like your brother Clayton. Your response, “Huh?”, followed by a little smirk…I liked you immediately.
You quickly became the life of the unit, the class clown, the best dance partner and a master chef. You had a hat for every occasion. Your fighting spirit was admirable, and we, your caregivers loved you for it.
Thank you Russell for coming into our lives, and making it so much brighter. The rocking chairs will never look the same.
“Now get yourself a bag of chips before you go.”
