Eugene was my neighbor in Granville Ferry for 15 years. He and Dorothy were always kind and thoughtful, generous with gifts of dulse, homemade pickles and jams, and wise advice on life along the shore. We will miss the talks around his dining room table and on that cozy rose-covered deck overlooking the bay. A strong and wonderful man, and a life well-lived. Deep condolences to Dot and to his family.

It as so special returning to Nova Scotia every summer knowing that Eugene was our fish monger, lobster finder, berry picker, clam digger and my exclusive source of dulse. We are forever grateful for all of the support he gave my mother, Annette (taunting included). All of us will fondly remember the card games, family gatherings and his fashion forward slippers. Our deepest sympathy for Dot and the family.

So I met Eugene only a few years ago while trying to find a parking place on Granville Road.... Eugene noticed our dilemma and offered to let us park at his place. Well from that day forward Eugene invited Barbara and I to park at his home whenever we were up visiting. Of course parking led to visiting, led to collaborating on home repair projects for both his place and ours, led to diners out with he and Dot... I really, really liked Eugene! He was a handy man who kept up a beautiful home right up until he got sick.He will be dearly missed by many...

Uncle Eugene was a kind and caring man, who loved his family and Nova Scotia. There may have been a great amount of distance between Ontario and Nova Scotia but he still remained close. He will be missed greatly.
