Blaine Melbourne Durling, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blaine, 78, Bridgetown.  Blaine passed away on April 1, 2023, at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born on May 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Melbourne and Agnes Durling.

Throughout Blaine’s life he was in the Canadian Armed Forces (Militia). He was very active within the community, such as the curling and lawn bowling clubs, he spent time with the fire department, served on many Ciderfest activities and was a member of the Legion Branch 33.  Blaine was always up for lending a hand for whomever needed it. He was also a member of St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown.

He worked as a meat cutter at Marshall’s Red & White, Clover Farm and then J&N grocery Ltd.  Later he worked with Save Easy store in Annapolis Royal and was a janitor part time with the Annapolis Valley School Board. He loved meeting and being with people, always willing to help someone. He loved his Tim Horton coffee with friends.

Blaine is survived by wife Rose, Bridgetown; stepson, Robert (Bonnie) Campbell, Paradise, and Ryan (Chantal), Sudbury, Ontario. Also step grandchildren, Braeden, Liam, Cohen, Torin, Cohl, Conner, Zack and Mia. Blaine was a dedicated Godfather to Joel and Jay.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. There will be no visitation or funeral service at Blaine’s request. Burial with take place at a later date.

Thank you to all the nursing staff and Doctors on the medical Floor of Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton and the ER at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, for their great care of Blaine, during his time there.
