Obituary of Alice Elaine Greene
GREENE, Alice Elaine - Bear River
Passed on October 26, 2022 Tideview Terrace, Digby, NS with her daughter by her side. Born September 21, 1934 Plympton, NS. Daughter of the late Ed & Agnes (Amero) Tibbetts. Mom's first job was the Harbourview House, Smith's Cove & then to the Telephone Company before becoming a full time homemaker. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, preserving, quilting, playing piano & her beloved guitar, along with writing songs & poetry. She loved to explore the world & traveled to many places, her favorites being the Alaska tour with Dad, Europe and the Holy Lands. She even rode a camel! She was a member of the Advent Christian Church, Bear River where she served as Deaconess & Treasurer for many years and President of the WHFM Society. She volunteered her time as a member of the Bear River Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary & Digby Co. Exhibition. She won many ribbons for her entries in the Exhibition. She loved the Lord dearly and wrote of his love & life through hundreds of songs he gave her. She was a talented woman! Mom's prayer is that the messages in her songs will bring many into a saving relationship with Jesus. We would like to thank the staff of Grace Haven & Tideview Terrace for the wonderful care given to Mom over the last four years. Survived by daughters Brenda (Gabriel) Hamilton, Toronto; Valerie (Greg) Sweeney, Bear River; grandchildren Nigel (Melissa) Hamilton, Dartmouth; Adam Sweeney, Victoria, BC; Amanda (Ryan) Peck, Cornwallis; great grandchildren Rylee, Noah & Brooke Hamilton, Wally Peck. Also survived by sister Frances MacNutt, Halifax; sister in law Edith Tibbetts, Clementsport; several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by husband Wallace, son Terry; brothers Harold & Ronald; sister Evelyn Haight. Funeral service to be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, NS; Reverend Nathan Waterman officiating. Burial following the service at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River, NS. Family flowers only. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of NS.
