We were so very sorry to hear of David's death. We spent many happy hours singing and playing music and enjoying the children with David, and his kindness was an example to all. David always had time for everyone and you always parted a little more cheerful than when you met. A remarkable man. He will be greatly missed but so fondly remembered.
Warm condolences to all the family,
Elizabeth, Anna, and Emily

My very deepest sympathy and loving condolences to all of Dave's family but also to all the many "kiddos" who he loved so much, and who are mourning the loss of their "pa", "papa", "dad", "Dave".

I'm deeply saddened for the pain you endured in your full life, Dave. I'll miss your hugs and our deep conversations but I know you'll always be there if we want to talk to you. Your spirit deserves peace and I celebrate all that you gave of yourself through the journey you walked through with dignity and courage. Never have I met a person as compassionate as you and as humble. Thank you for mentoring me as a young student working for FCS over 30 years ago, all the support and wisdom you shared with me in our little office that we shared together for several years, all the love and support through these years including my own cancer journey. I was honoured to be one of your people you could lean on too when then the baggage was too heavy. Your legacy will live on in every single life you saved and we know there is many. The messages I've received this week privately and those who post publicly reflect the human you were... compassionate, fair, loving, kind, and willing to fight for those who didn't have a voice! Be free dear friend! I love you Pa

To Dave's family and friends, I send deepest condolences in the loss of a great man. A man who fought for his rights and for the rights of others and believed everyone had a special worth. He found his worth and with that knowledge Dave carried on fighting for others...he had found his place in this world, many years ago.
Be proud you were a part of his life and perhaps each and every one of us will be touched in some small way by all that Dave stood for and believed in.
My connection to Dave goes back to the 70's when living in the Valley in the Big Buffalo days.
Rest in Peace.

My deepest sympathy to you his family.
Your father was a true angel on earth.
He met me as a young child (I wasn't under his care)
but always expressed concern over me. As I grew up he always met me with a smile and wanted to know how I was doing.
He followed his calling and touched the hearts of many. David, you sir made a difference, may you rest peacefully.

Dave will always hold a special place in my heart. He got me through my horrible teen years. Never turned me away. I would sit in his office and just vent. He was one of a kind. We still stayed in touch all those years later. Fly high sweet soul..

As my baseball coach for my friends and I, Dave was always a compassionate person that was extremely patient with a bunch of rambunctious kids ! He taught us not only the fundamentals of baseball, but shared positive reinforcements on being good people and sportsman. Lessons I use daily as a fellow social worker. Dave will be missed , but his positive impact will live on !
