Obituary of Shari Ann Johns
Johns, Shari Anne – We are sad to announce the passing of a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend on July 24 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. She fought a long battle with cancer and was brave until the end. Shari had just celebrated her 63rd birthday on July 3rd. She was the chosen daughter of Margaret and Russell Lent, Granville Beach. Shari leaves to mourn her loving husband of 40 years, Richard; sons, Matthew (Nikki) and David, all of Granville Beach; granddaughters, Sasha, Sophie and Lexi Johns; sister, Jean Lowe. Shari later found her biological family and became close to her brothers, Pat and Thomas; cousins Doreen and Lorraine. Shari embraced her Native culture and became a Board of Director Zone 4 of the Native Council of Nova Scotia also attended many meetings of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples in Ottawa. For many years Shari worked with the Annapolis Planning Commission but finished her career as an Educational Assistant with the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education. For over 20 years Shari made a wonderful and impactful difference in the lives of many children. Shari was known for her beautiful smile and unconditional love for her family. She made many friends over the years and will be truly missed by all who knew her. A funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. A private family burial will follow in Stoney Beach Cemetery, Granville Beach. Donations made in memory of Shari may be sent to the Annapolis West Health Foundation, Palliative Care.
