Ada was a beautiful lady. One of the things I liked to do when in Victoria Beach, was to go and visit Ada and Alvin, even if she did make me sing in the choir.

My sympathies to the family on behalf of myself and my mother Madge(Long) McPhail. Mom's parents were Jennie(Nowlin) and David Long of Black River. It is sad each time I read another familiar name of one who has passed. I recognize all the names from stories I have heard over the years. Our heartfelt condolences and may memories and faith comfort you.

Dear Vera Faye & Family: As we say good-bye to Ada let us remember all the great memories that she leaves behind with us. How well I remember when Mother would receive a letter from Ada with news of what she was up to in Victoria Beach. Back then, Victoria Beach was a million miles away from home and was an occasion for Mother to get on the phone and call all her cousins to pass along news from Ada's letter. Letters were the life line amongst the family back then. Daddy even surprised Mother with a Sunday drive to Victoria Beach to visit Ada. Of course, it was a day long excursion on the old #1 Highway and meant that Daddy had to have somebody come in and do the suppertime milking but he figured it was worth leaving his blessed cows for a few hours even if he didn't really know where Victoria Beach was but he'd find it if he just followed his nose and the Studebaker didn't break down. Memories live forever. Our sincerest condolences. Sonya & Curtis
