The last time I saw Manny was Christmas of 2019. He was sitting surrounded by his new favourite things looking so very contented, As we were getting ready to leave I caught his eye when I whispered ‘bye Manny’ and gave a little wave. He waved back...when I reached the door I turned and found his gaze again, whispered bye and waved again. I can feel the love in his eyes to this day as he waved back at me again...there’s something timeless and healing in that look...

It was my privilege to have known Manny. He was so joyful and he shared that joy with all of us. I have many happy memories of Manny but a few of my favourites are how he would always sing with me whenever I was in the mood to belt out a tune; he would always join in wholeheartedly or when a good song came on the radio, he would dance with unbridled enthusiasm. Halloween being my favourite time of year, Manny was someone I could count on to celebrate with. He always knew who he was going out as, Woody was his favourite.
Manny, we knew you were an earth angel and now you will be singing and dancing as the angel you are- in heaven. Love you Manny ❤️

We expect to bury our elders, our parents. We never expect to bury our siblings. This will be one of the hardest losses you will ever know, but you also have many people who will help to see you through this enormous sadness.
