Danny and the extended Piggott Family:
I am sorry this condolence is late in sending. I am somehow just now catching up with your Dad’s passing months ago.
Although the years spent in Westmount are distant and far behind us, our dear friends from that time still stand bold and true. Your Dad and Mom were gracious people whose kindness was always extended whenever our paths would cross. Your dad remained a dear friend to my own father long after he moved from George Dauphinee Ave.
His obituary is a tribute to the legacy of love he leaves each and every one of you.

Calvin, Danny, Jimmy, & families, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Bill. He was such a wonderful, dear man and true friend of my parents and our family. He never seemed to be without a funny story & a smile. His voice & his laugh were unique and his positive nature was infectious. I have lots of great memories of Bill & Cay, but will always remember your father arriving at our house after a trip to the Valley. He was disappointed that Dad wasn't home because he wanted to show him a turnip from Paradise (a great big giant rutabaga) & a little wee turnip he'd picked up across the Valley floor in Clarence. What a jokester! He enlisted in the army lineup right after Dad and they truly made a lot of wonderful memories together. Bill will be sadly missed. F44O23, rest in peace.

Jim, Dan and Calvin,
Sorry to hear about Bill. He and Paul really enjoyed each other's company over the years, Paul's best friend in Westmount. They had a lot of laughs. Paul always looked forward to the Dec 24th visit across the street to Bills's to drop off a silly birthday card and gift. I think it was usually the highlight of the holiday season for Paul! It was nice to see a couple of photos of Bill and Paul on one of Bill's visits to Parkland a few years back. I heard Bill tried to sneak by but Paul spotted him and recognized who it was immediately! I enjoyed many chats with Bill when I was back for Christmas visits, we'd both be out shoveling snow, and take a break to catch up.
Hope you and your families are well under the circumstances.

Dear Calvin, Danny, Jimmy and your families,
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear father Bill. He was always such a great gentleman to know and yes, he had a great sense of humour. It grieves me to think that both he and Calvina are gone, and that the original connection of both our families have gone on before all of us. But they have left us all with wonderful memories for you all, and I will always cherish having known your father and mother.
Please take solace in knowing that the Moreau family have you in our thoughts and prayers, and may the memories of your father and mother give you comfort, peace knowing that their love for you all lives on in your hearts each and every day.
Take good care of one another, stay safe and well.

Dear Calvin, Danny, Jimmy and all your families,
There are no words that I can use to express the sadness knowing that all of you have lost a loving and much admired father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Billy was a wonderful man whom I enjoyed in my youth listening to him tell stories out in the sun porch at the farm of his parents working on the farm when he was a young man. He calming and soft spoken voice made you listen intently to every word. My fondest memory was when your Dad took Peter, Margaret and myself in the speed boat up the Annapolis River pointing out the banks that led from the River, up the fields to Centrelea, Tupperville and right down to Moshelle. It was a warm summer evening after dinner and we were visiting Cal and Ike. It was such a thrill as it was our first time in a speed boat and Billy made it such an adventure for us to cherish.
I truly hope that only happy memories will be a comfort to you all and that you three boys will keep Billy’s love for life and joy of family alive through your own children and grandchildren
Please know that my words of condolence are genuinely meant to be words of support and encouragement during this most difficult time.

My condolences to all the family. I remember a family reunion at Shortt's Lake and other times when Mom (Marguerite) and I would visit them. From the write-up I can see what a full life he had. I know you have many great memories to hold on to as you miss him and mourn your loss. May the God of comfort bring you peace.

What a life well lived! Bill was quite a man, offering contributions in every aspect of his life. While he will be so greatly missed, I hold his humble and gentle presence in my heart. Sending my love to Calvin and Judith, Dan and Deb, Jim and Yvonne and their families who have lost their father and "Grampy." Wishing you peace in the coming days, weeks and months.

I am one of many Nova Scotia Highway Union workers, who had the opportunity to talk and negotiate with Bill. This was in the old Motor Works building on Hollis Street, across from the Legislature in Halifax, in the early 1970ties. Bill was a tough negotiator. I learned a lot from him... While working at the Amherst Highway garage, I met a relative of his, Beth Pugsley who worked in the office. Once Bill and I connected with Beth as a mutual friend, we had great conversations after that. My sincere condolences to the family.

Thank you Rhodes. Your comments were greatly appreciated. I have to say, he often told me that union negotiating was the absolute least favourite part of his work (except perhaps arguing with two faced polititians). The Pugsley were also close friends and Don Pugsley also worked with my Dad in the Halifax office. He had great respect for the guys on the front lines of highway work, and I fondly remember times when he would let me ride the snow plows with some of those guys in the Truro office.
