Judi, from our family to yours, we send our sincerest sympathies. Your Dad was a treasured friend to our parents Joyce and Bruce Burbridge. It was always a pleasure to see him if I happened to be home and he was visiting. He never missed a Christmas gift of Golf Digest to Bruce. He was a truly lovely man. Thinking of you all.

To the Urquhart Family:
Please accept my sincere condolences on Hugh's passing. He lived a long and full life, leaving a trail of good memories.
I knew Hugh through the West Nova Scotia Regiment. I arrived in Aldershot in 1974 after his term as Commanding Officer. I didn"t meet him until a Trooping of the Colour Parade at Fort Anne in 1979. He arrived for the parade looking the picture of a distinguished gentleman. They say first impressions are lasting, and it was so in this case. Every time I met Hugh, he was someone who treated others as he would like to be treated.
I thank him for his military service to Canada and Canadians, and I wish him peace in his eternal rest.
Above is a photo of the Colonel from his days in uniform.

For a period of time in his life Hugh was a tenor in my mother Mary's church choir at Gordon Providence United Church. I remember so clearly the time that he and his wife Verna hosted a choir party one Sunday afternoon at their Hampton cottage. As I was home that weekend, I was able to accompany my mother to that happy gathering. Hugh was a true gentleman, always eager to pursue a conversation.

Dear Judy & family of Hugh Urquhart,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Judy, we attended BRHS together back in '68 and '69. My father worked with yours at Acadian Distillers with mutual respect.
May fond memories help sustain you and yours at this sad time.
Sincerely, Dianne Nowe

I was so sorry to read of the death of Hugh. We were neighbours on Park Lane in Bridgetown, and both of us attended St. James Anglican Church where we served on the Church Council together. Hugh was a gentleman and a gentle man. My sincere sympathy to his children and their families.
