Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lynn and family with the passing of Nelson. Isabel and myself are very saddened losing Nelson as we always looked forward to spending time in Florida over the winter months with Lynn and Nelson having dinners together or going running with Nelson. Completed a race in Saint Petersburg yesterday and was thinking of Nelson alone the way as he introduced me to running and road racing in Florida. Will never forget the good times we had down here.thinking of you and your family at this difficult time. Bob and Isabel

I met and came to know Nelson during many Saturday morning long runs through Clarence with the Bridgetown Running Group. I ate his dust many times, and I’m certain that my fittest was still no match for him! He always had a story to share and advice for improvement for us newer runners. My heart goes out to his family at this time; I know he will be greatly missed.

Lynne, Sandy, James and Family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Nelson. I first met Nelson at the County office about 2004 when I went there on an on-the-job placement. My first impression of him was that of a quiet man. I’m not sure if he didn’t understand my “newfienese” or he was a little shy. I ended up staying and working at different jobs for well over a year and got to realize that Nelson was indeed quiet but could say a lot with his dry sense of humor. I’d often see Nelson and Lynne around and chat a little about they’re trips away. He seems lucky enough to have lived a full life! Please know our prayers and thoughts are with you all.
