Sarty, Martin Russell - 59, South Williamston. It is with enormous sadness we announce Martin passed away at home on December 22, 2010. He fought a lengthy and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on December 10, 1951, he was a son of Rena (Gaul) Sarty, Carlton Corner and the late Roland Sarty. Since 1978, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Transportation, Middleton. Martin loved working on his farm and working in the woods with his Belgian horses Jack and King. He enjoyed his cattle, raising calves and pulling his horses in the Lawrencetown Exhibition. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Marshall (Steve), Bridgetown; Jill Smith, Ontario; Shayna Weaver, Margaretsville; close friend, Denise Weaver and her son, Rupert, Margartsville; grandchildren, Billy Marshall, Jake Marshall, Mallory Marshall, Kurtis Smith, Allie Smith and grandson, Owen Marshall who was his grampie's special little farmer; brothers, Edison "Eddie" Sarty (Rose), Clarence; Rodney Sarty (Penny), Bridgetown; sisters, Alma Hudson (Buster), Parkers Cove; Grace Caldwell (Eugene), Hampton; many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Following Martin's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Western Draft Horse Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
