Obituary of Gail Laura Robinson
Gail Laura Robinson (nee Wade)
July 28, 1954 – August 28, 2019
It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gail Robinson announces her passing. Taken from us at 65, Gail died on Wednesday at the VG Hospital in Halifax. Family members were by her side. Left to mourn her passing and forever cherish her memory are: Jackie Robinson, her husband of 44 years and best friend; children Alicia (Liam) Murphy of Dartmouth and Michael (Keri Ann) Robinson of Kentville; siblings Dougie (Sharon) Wade of Granville Ferry, Dianne (Caroll) Edwards of Sheffield Mills, Barb (Wayne) Chartrand of Lower Sackville, and Bruce (Rose) Wade of Tusket; foster mother Barbara Rafuse of Young’s Cove; grandchildren Leah, Lauren and Tyler Robinson of Kentville and Nicholas, Katelyn, Makayla Murphy of Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. Gail was predeceased by her parents, Malcolm and Muriel (Nichols) Wade; her infant son, Bryan Robinson; son-in-law, Tryson Saunders; and foster father, Hallett Rafuse. A long-time Scotiabank employee, Gail was well known. After retirement, Gail took over an existing business and became the “Avon Lady”. Monthly lunches with “the girls” were always looked forward to. Gail was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandma. Her world though was her grandchildren. She could not help but beam with joy whenever she saw them or spoke of them. You could always expect pictures. Travel to Florida in the winter was always highly anticipated. It was Gail’s time to have Jackie to herself. Time was spent visiting family and at Orange Lake. Always a crafter, Gail shared that love with her sister, Barb. Ceramics, tole-painting, quilting and most recently hooking – Gail loved it all. Marathon sessions together were certainly not unheard of. Gail enjoyed a good jigsaw puzzle. She spent many an evening workings with Jackie to find that one “missing piece”. Gail will be sadly missed, but forever remembered by all. The funeral service will take place at Parker’s Cove Baptist Church on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place and no graveside will be held at this time. No visitation is being held. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Condolences maybe made by visiting www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
