Obituary of Marjorie Doreen White
Surrounded by family and loving staff, Marjorie Doreen White (Bent) passed away on June 16th, 2019 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. There is no doubt that the angels are playing a good hand of forty-fives and losing to Marge, because she thoroughly enjoyed a robust game of cards. Card playing and gathering around the organ in the parlor to sing came with Marjorie’s Bay Shore culture and she revelled in both activities. Community and the people in it motivated Marge. She enjoyed people and went out of her way to touch base with all that she met; people she knew and people she planned to know.
Born September 19th, 1926 to Donald and Achsah Bent of Phinney Cove, Marjorie enjoyed her early year’s beach combing and playing with her numerous siblings on the Fundy shore. Marjorie married her “Bay Shore Boy,” Frank White in 1949 and moved to the community of Clarence in the valley where she raised her family and worked at Mountain Lea Lodge. There is no doubt that Marjorie loved both her kin folk as well as her work family. She was well known for her: kindness, quick wit, culinary abilities, work ethic, her commitment to family and of course her card-shark ways.
Through thick and thin, Marjorie lived life to the fullest. Loving her true love, Frank, and her five children: Blake, Randy, Rob, Rosie and Rhonda. She brought a certain style to all that she did. A style born from being grounded, knowing where she came from and where she was headed. Laughing and bringing joy to others along the way.
Marjorie is survived by: son, Robert White (Debbie); daughters, Rosalie Gale (Kenny) and Rhonda Freeman (Brian); daughter in-laws, Gail Bent (Blakney) and Deborah White (Randy); grandchildren, Leigh Ann Gale, David White, Brendon Gale, Mark Bent, Jennifer White, Tanya White, Michael White and Olivia Freeman; seventeen great grandchildren; siblings, James Bent, Audree Young, Samuel Bent and Sandra Beeler; sister-in-law, Roberta White.
Predeceased by: husband, Frank White; sons, Blakney Bent and Randy White; grandson, Shane Bent; parents, Donald and Achsah Bent; siblings, Lester Bent, Patricia Cropley, Mark Bent and Watson Bent. A visitation will be held 7-9pm Thursday, with a celebration of life for Marjorie taking place at 11am Friday June 21, 2019 in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown with Rev. Lynn Uzans officiating. Interment at the Bent Family Cemetery, Longley Mtn. Rd., Phinney Cove with a reception to follow at Hampton Hall.
