Buckler, Carel Stanley – 79, of Deep Brook, passed away May 23, 2019 in Tideview Terrace, Digby. Born December 20, 1939, in Bear River East, he was the son of the late Atlee and Gladys (Potter) Buckler. Carel loved being on the road, he was born to drive a truck. He had a passion for fixing anything that would run; whether it be a vehicle, lawnmower or anything else that had a small engine. With Carel as your friend, you always knew you had a true friend. He was a caring and generous man, who loved his family very much.

Carel is survived by his wife, Eleanor; children, Blake (Wendy), Cobourg, ON, Kathy (Simon) Zekveld, Lindsay, ON, Kimberly (David) Rogerson, Port Hope, ON; step children, James (Catherine) Simpson, Bowmenville, ON, Roberta Kellachan, Sudbury, ON, Barbara Young (Dave), Sudbury, ON, Sharon McKellvey, Brampton, ON; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Kay Vroom, Digby; brother, Victor, Bear River East; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Carel was predeceased, by his sister, Geraldine Morine.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. June 2,2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Clementsport. Donations in Carels memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetic Association or Charity of Choice.
