Obituary of Elsie Gertrude Wagstaff

Wagstaff, Elsie Gertrude – 95, Annapolis Royal.  It is with sadden hearts the family announces the passing of their Aunt Elsie G. Wagstaff who passed away on April 24, 2019, in Annapolis Royal Nursing Home.   Born in Port Wade, on May 17, 1923 to the late Accillia (Covert) and William McGrath.  Elsie was very active in the community and Granville Ferry Baptist Church.  She helped her first husband, Blair with the Funeral Home business, Taxi Service and sold marriage licenses.  Elsie is survived by several nieces and nephews; step children, Barbara McGillivary of Vancouver; Beverly Glatz, of Calgary; Susan Ma, of BC and Bill Wagstaff of Ottawa.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Blair Hatfield; second husband, William Wagstaff; brothers, Ralph and Harold McGrath. Following Elsie’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held 2 – 4 pm, Wednesday May1st, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal.   A funeral service will be held 2:00 Thursday, May 2nd, 2019,  in Granville Ferry Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Legassie officiating. Burial will be held in Port Wade Cemetery.  Donations made in Elsie’s memory may be sent to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Annapolis Community Health Centre.  The family would like to give a special Thanks to Dr. Ken Buchholz and the wonderful staff at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their wonderful care of our Aunt.
