Visitation at Funeral Home
Celebration of Life
Obituary of Bruce Russell Gregory
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bruce Russell Gregory, age 65, on April 21, 2019. With his beloved wife and 5 daughters by his side he ended his struggle with COPD.
Bruce was born in Annapolis Royal and was the son to the late Warren Otis and Hilda (Vidito) Gregory.
Bruce was a fisherman all his life and the captain of many boats. He worked hard to provide a good life for his family; he was their rock who they could always rely on and would do anything for his girls. He loved the water and longed to be back on a boat when he was no longer able to work.
Bruce had a tough exterior, but those who knew him well knew he had a heart of gold. When he was no longer working, he spent his days doing small projects around the house or in his garage shining up his mustang he bought himself a few years ago. He spent a lot of evenings talking and laughing with friends. He was a jokester and loved to tease people.
Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marsha (Sarty), and five daughters whom he adored, Chassity Chute (James) of Young’s Cove, Mandy of Granville Beach, Melanie (Aaron Sanford) Hillsburn, Cathy (David Oliver) Hillburn, Christie (Dave Gaudett) Clementsport; His eight grandchildren who lit up his life and affectionately called him “Bumpa”, Mikayla, Hayden, Austin, Madison, Riley, Logan Bruce, Kamryn and Skyler. He is also survived by his only sister, Ena Faye of Kentville; several nieces and nephews; cousins and many close friends.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brothers, Harris and David Gregory.
A visitation will be held 6-8 pm Thursday April 25th, with a Celebration of Life being held on Friday April 26th at 10 am both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating.
Donations in Bruce’s memory can be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
