Gillighan, William Arthur "Bill" - 81, of Clarence, Annapolis Co., passed away October 12, 2011, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Rooskey, Fahan, County Donegal, Ireland, he was the son of the late George and Rebecca (McCorkell). Bill began his love of farming at his home in Fahan, Ireland. In 1951, he immigrated to Canada, soon after he married his life long partner Hilda and they had four wonderful children. Bill retired from Dairy farming in 1993 and converted over to beef cattle. Along with his love of farming he was also a champion bee keeper. He is survived by his wife of 58 years , Hilda Marie (Durling); daughter, Mary Anne Gillighan (Kevin Bauer) of Clarence; son, John (Karen) of Enfield; daughter-in-law, Grace, of Port Lorne; grandchildren Devon, Maria, Rebecca, Katrina, Rachael, Michael, Robyn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland, USA, and Canada. He was predeceased by sons, James and George; brother, George and sister Sarah Jean. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Friday in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral service will be held at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown 11am Saturday, October 15, 2011, with Canon Ken Vaughan officiating. Private family burial to follow.
