Obituary of Barry James Bass

Bass, Barry James, 65 of Centrelea passed away March 19, 2019 in the QEII Health Sciences Center , Halifax. Born in Honiton, England he was a son of the late Lionel and Gwen (Rice) Bass. Barry was a member of the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Dept. for 45 years. He loved his antique tractors, plowing matches, tractor pulls and his dogs. He was a longtime member of the Trucker’s Association and worked for John Ray Lawrence and Brite Span. Barry looked forward to his Sunday morning drives with David Gaul. He is survived by his common-law spouse Janet Mills; brothers: Gordon (Trish), Brian (Pat); sister-in-law Joanna all of England, 7 nieces and nephews, Michelle and his dog Harley. He was predeceased by his brother Nigel. The firefighters will hold a Last Call service at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Barry’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 6, 2019 at the Bridgetown Fire Dept. to which all are invited to attend and share their memories of Barry.
