McDonald, Helen “Irene” – 90, Bridgetown, formerly of Paradise, passed away February 7, 2019 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born February 28, 1928, in Middleton, she was the daughter of the late Harris and Helen (MacLean) Hudson. Irene was a member of the Paradise Baptist Church. She worked for 17 years at Mountain Lea Lodge, and she enjoyed sewing, knitting and fancy work. Irene was a very kind and simple lady, who always had a smile for everyone. She was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Glenn) Hannam, Kingston; grandchildren, Patti (Mark) O’Toole, Jeffrey (Jamie) Hannam; sister, Donna (Arthur) Langille; brothers, Charles Spurr, Donald (Susan) Spurr; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by first husband, Francis Walker; second husband, Harold McDonald; sons, Gary Walker, John Walker; grandson, Darren Walker; sisters, Elizabeth Aube, Phyllis Spicer, Audrey Sommers; brother, Robert Spurr.  Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A graveside service will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge, VON or charity of one’s choice.
