This is the summer of 1955, on the steps of St. Peter's Cathedral in Charlottetown, PEI. Taken on the day of my baptism. Imogen is on the right with my mother and father and my older brother.

I was so sorry to learn just this week of Imogen's passing. My mother and father were good friends with both Harry and Imogen all their married lives. In 1954, when I was born, Harry and Imogen were asked by my parents, Bruce and Barbara McLennan, to be my Godparents. They agreed. I remember both Imogen and Harry as kind and thoughtful people who always made time for me when we visited. When I married in 1978, Harry gave the toast to the bride. My married life took me first to Calgary and then overseas for more than 20 years, but when our family returned to Nova Scotia for a holiday, we always tried to take our young sons for a visit with Harry and Im. While we haven't seen much of Imogen in the last year or so since retiring, her passing saddens me greatly. My sincere condolences to her family and close friends. Rest in Peace Imogen. I hope you are once again with Harry.

We were all so sad to learn of Immie's passing. She was a wonderful friend, a pleasure to spend time with and we are happy to have known her. She spoke often of her nephews and nieces. We will all miss her.

I was so sad to read Im (Willett) Miller's beautiful obituary in the Chronicle Herald newspaper. As secretary of the Nova Scotia Wren Association, I extend condolences on behalf of our membership.
What a beautiful photo of her in her Second World War Wren uniform!
I am sorry that I did not meet her to interview her and capture her stories of her wartime service.
If the family would like to share any details of her naval service or photos of her time in the navy, I would be most interested in writing a biography of her for our records. Her name would also be recorded in our Book Of Remembrance. I can be contacted at 902-465-2595.
