I met George on my summer visits to see Elaine. The three of us went to the Graveyard Walk, attended the Lawrencetown parade and how he would only sit in the one spot, went to the Exhibition and he educated me on the races, we listed to his friend Theresa sing at this year’s Exhibition, he treated us to fries and we had to have little doughnuts to take home. Loved our cups of tea and chat. We knew my love of Ireland, and gave me a cup and saucer with shamrocks and a cloth with shamrocks belonging to his aunt who was Irish. George I too will miss seeing you on my next trip to Nova Scotia. George I loved our swallies of jagermeister. Rest In Peace my friend.
My thoughts and Prayers go out to you Elaine and all George’s family at this difficult time.

One of the first friends we ever made since moving to Round Hill. I am going to miss him calling me "Kid". Such a wry sense of humour, a selfless volunteer, and a generous man. My heart goes out to Elaine and his family. Blessings.

My heart is heavy with news of George. We had such a keen connection over the past years. He always gave me a kiss and a hug when we seen each other and swore he missed his chance to marry me! He made me laugh and was such a fan of my music. Usually found he and Elaine waiting on a certain song at a show and wondering where the CD was. I'm afraid things will never be 'Just the Same' anymore. Perhaps he'll spend ALL his time at camp now. Fishing, listening to music, and talking about his kids and grandkids to whoever's there to listen. Going to miss you George. The saying is that 'All good things must come to an end'...George WAS good.To everyone that's a part of him, has been close to him, I wish all good memories to overcome the sadness. Miss him....and remember.

I was so saddened to hear of George's passing. George became a valued friend to our immediate family in Oromocto, N.B. in the 1970's - taught our Jacquie in Cornwallis - then became a staunch friend of sister, Carole and David in Round Hill. I was blessed to visit with him there. We loved him. My mother, Ada Dargie, would have me send her deepest sympathy, as well.
