Obituary of Delores June McLaughlin

McLaughlin, Delores June age 82 of Gold River, passed away peacefully at Shoreham Village Nursing Home on September 29, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Born in Gold River on June 29, 1936 she was the daughter of Rennie Swinimer (Rafuse) and Larry Swinimer of Gold River. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Russel McLaughlin; Ferne Rafuse, mother Rennie Swinimer and father Larry Swinimer and son-in-law Elwood Bradbury.

She will be forever missed by her children: Terry (Mae) Rafuse, Debbie Rafuse (Tom Gildchrist) and Tammy Bradbury (Rafuse); three grandchildren Richard Rafuse, Jamie Rafuse, Nathan Bradbury; and four great grandchildren: Colby Collicutt- Rafuse, Cameron Bradbury, Conor Rafuse, Cohen Rafuse. She was a devoted sister and survived by Freddie (Carolyn) Swinimer, and Opal Demont, as well as many special nieces and nephews and dear friends who had a special place in her heart.

Mom’s love, devotion and caring for all creatures, feathered, fury, big and small were always dear to her heart and she could always be seen feeding and caring for them regardless of the weather and elements they were exposed to.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to SHAD or the SPCA.
