Obituary of Donald Francis Mullen

Mullen, Donald Francis – 87, Clementsvale, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2018, at Tideview Terrace, Digby.  Born on April 19, 1931 in Salem, Massachusetts, USA, he was a son of the late Francis and Ruby (Simpson) Mullen.  Donald moved to Victory with his mother at the age of 10, where he lived until settling in Clementsvale in 1955.  Donald was an accomplished carpenter, enjoyed time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and cutting his winter’s wood.  He was a talented dart player, often defeating his opponents with a kind smile and humble nature.  A renowned musician, Donald enjoyed playing his fiddle at benefits, charities and nursing homes around the countryside.  One of his special pastimes was “jamming” with his son and grandson.  Donald is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Marion (Riley) and son Randy (Nancy).  He was a beloved grandfather to Jason (Amber), Shawn (Kassi), Jennifer, Matthew (Songi); great grandfather to Ethan and Keygan.  Donald was predeceased by his daughter, Carol and brother Francis.  Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Sunday July 15, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory may be made to Tideview Terrace, Digby.  Special thanks to Dr. Bonnington for his years of kind compassionate care, also the dedicated staff at Tideview Terrace, Digby.  On line condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
