Obituary of Oliver 'Dawson' Farrington
Farrington, Oliver ‘Dawson’ – 76, Bridgetown passed away June 30, 2018 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born November 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Dawson Ralph and Lorraine Marie (Giffen) Farrington. In the early 60’s, Dawson was a member of a Folk singing quartet called “The Tartan Four”. He was also a member of the Fire department and the Kinsman club in the valley and had multiple businesses. Dawson taught Physical Education and was the vice principal in the Lawrencetown schools, and in 1981 took a position as Principal in the Lockport High School where he stayed until his retirement in the early 90’s. Survived by his wife, Pauline; sister, Eva Marie Farrington, Lockeport; daughters, Robyn Lynn Farrington, Halifax and Keri Nicole Farrington, Shelburne; their mother, Carol Joanne Farrington; grandchildren, Hope Blayne Goulden, Shelburne, Sophie Grace Goulden, Shelburne and Isabelle Carol Sevigny, Yellowknife; nephew, Ryan Fenwick James McCrory, Halifax; Stepsons, Robin Furlong, Calgary, Denny Furlong , Calgary, Sean Furlong, Fredericton. He was predeceased by his 2nd wife, Josette Poidevin Farrington. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown.
