Obituary of Albert "Buster" MacKenzie
MacKenzie, Albert “Buster” – Middleton formerly of Waldec, died peacefully in the Veterans Unit, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton on December 28, 2017 at the age of 96. Born in Donkin, Cape Breton into the family of 11, son of John and Annie MacKenzie. He served in the army from 1941 until 1944. After his service he went to Cornwallis working in the hospital then the heating plant until retirement in 1981. In 1945 he met the love of his life Marie Ring. They married in 1946 and lived in Waldec Sharing 68 years together. He is survived by daughter, Bonnie Hudson (Norman), Clementsvale; son, Wayne (Louise) Ontario; grandsons, Michael Hudson, Saint John and Stephen Hudson, Alberta; granddaughter, Marlene Beecroft, Alberta and two great grandchildren, Alberta; sisters, Kay Sanford, Thelma MacKenzie, Frances Hunter, Mayme McSween and Laura McDougall. Buster and Marie loved dancing whenever and wherever they could, travelling abroad to square dance with groups. Buster loved his gardens and small farm in his earlier years. He was a very kind and happy man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife Marie; grandson, Gregory, a sister and four brothers. No visitation by request. A legion tribute and funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. A reception will follow.
