Mary Louisa Bent, Granville Centre/Bridgetown

Mary (age 91), formerly of Granville Centre, died peacefully at Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown on December 17, 2017.  She was born in Coleford, England to Alice (Bateman) and William Hunt, immigrating to Canada as a baby with her parents.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, first husband, Lester Morgan, second husband, Harold Bent, brothers: Charles, Billy, Ronnie and sister, Maisie. She is survived by children: Alice (Wendy Annand) Maitland, Lunenburg County; Brian (Donna) Granville Centre; Eileen (Upper Clements) , grandchildren:  Adrian (Erin), Edmonton; Anthony, Edmonton, Nathaniel (Hailey), Wainwright ; Shilo (Matt), Prospect Road, Kings County, great granddaughter, Charlotte Mary; sisters, Violet Hamilton and Ethel Bent and sister-in-laws, Janet Hunt and Carolyn Hunt.

Mary was involved in Granville Centre organizations, such as All Saints Anglican Church Guild, Women's Institute, Community Hall Association and collecting for cancer.

Mary would describe herself as an outdoors woman who loved dogs.  She helped Harold run the family farm by looking after the cattle, haying and gardening. 

She and Harold spent many years camping in their trailer in various places throughout Nova Scotia, wherever he worked, and in Smith's Cove after retirement.  When she was at home, Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren, quilting and sewing.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal.  A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday March, 5, 2018, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Rev. Juantia Barteaux officiating.  Burial will follow in Wadeville, Cemetery, Granville Centre .Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Annapolis West Health Foundation at ACHC.
