Sabean, Barbara Jean - 70 of Wilmot formerly of Port Lorne, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2017, in Annapolis County Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born in Middleton, on June 16, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Gwen (Strudwick) O’Neil. October 1970 she married Joseph Sabean.  Barb was employed at Graves Cannery in Berwick for five years before making the choice to be a stay at home mom. She was an active volunteer for the Port Lorne Fire Department, serving 16 years on the ladies auxiliary; held the position of president 6 years.  Alongside her sister, Glenda, she volunteered for eight years with the Port Lorne Canada Day Festivities; she was a member of the Middleton Legion for 14 years and enjoyed playing darts.   Barbara is survived by her four children, daughter, Bonnie (James) Wade, Windsor; three sons, Craig O’Neil, Weymouth, Rodney (Penny) O’Neil, Inglisville and Michael (Lisa) Sabean, Middleton; two sisters, Anne (John) Peitzsche, Goldboro, and Judy (Wilburt) Selig, Tatamagouche; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and her beloved fur baby Coco.  She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Joseph; sister, Glenda Barkhouse; granddaughter, Sara O’Neil and nephew, Steven Bent. Following Barb’s wishes there will be no visitation.  Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown.  A funeral service will be held 2 pm, October 17, 2017 in Stephen Wade Evangelistic Church, Paradise, with Rev. Stephen Wade officiating.  Interment will be in Fundy View Cemetery, Port Lorne.
