~~Mailman (Selby) Joan ,of Annapolis Royal born November 27, 1923  passed away October 9, 2017 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born in York, England she was a daughter of the late John William and Harriet (Reed) Selby. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal. Before her marriage in England she was involved in swimming, gymnastics and ballroom dancing. Here in Canada she played badminton, golf, curling and taught swimming. She was a member of the Granville Bridge Club. She was a former member of the Annapolis Golf Club and Eden Golf Club, the Annapolis Badminton Club, Bridgetown Curling Club and the Cornwallis Curling Club. She was a past Worthy Matron of  the Order of Eastern Star, Port Royal No.1 also past member of the I.O.D.E, Annapolis Royal and past member of Annapolis Drama Group. Joan leaves to mourn son Ian (Beverly) of Moschelle, brother Colin in England; grandchildren: Stephen (Jeanie) Mailman, Christopher ( Claudia) Mailman, Jeffrey (Anita) Murphy, ,Kimberly (Jeff) Sutton; great grandchildren: Selina, Elijah, Foster, Kyle, Katie and Cory; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, daughter Andrea, sister: Claire, brothers: Doug and Christopher. At Joan’s request there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 14, 2017 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal. Interment will be in St. Albans Anglican Cemetery, Lequille.
