Obituary of Merton Howard Hall

Please share a memory of Merton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Hall, Merton Howard – 67, Beaconsfield, Annapolis Co., passed away peacefully August 1, 2017, with his daughter Melissa by his side in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Middleton he was the son of Gerald and Joyce (Feindell) Hall. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Chris) Wade; brother, Tim Hall and good friend, Anthony Durling.  He will be missed by his family. Merton was a jack of all trades who could fix anything. His neighbors called him “Mayor of Beaconsfield” and will be missed by his many friends and neighbors. He loved woodworking, working in the woods and puttering around the yard. He could often be found sitting outside and enjoyed visits from friends who would stop in for a chat.  Anthony Durling was like a son to him.  Merton enjoyed teaching Anthony things, being able to guide him in the right direction when he knew that was just what Anthony needed. Anthony could always count on Merton’s support even when it seemed like there was no one else who cared. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Following Merton’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Private family burial at a later date. Donations made in Merton’s memory may be sent to Special Olympics Annapolis County c/o Melissa Wade R.R. #2 Bridgetown, Annapolis County, NS B0S 1C0.  On line condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
