Obituary of Chestina Rita Hudson

Chestina Rita Hudson -April 16, 1926 – July 13, 2017

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Chestina Rita Hudson of Parkers Cove. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. Mom’s entire life was devoted to her family and home, being surrounded by her family was her greatest pleasure in life. She was an adored wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom enjoyed flowers and the simple things in life like being a homemaker; decorating; baking; and having the brightest whites on the line would give her great joy. Christmas was her favorite, decorations, tree, and family gatherings. The presence of children would always bring a smile to face, and many often referred to her as “Mom”.
Chestina is survived by her 5 daughters, Carolyn (Donald) Wamboldt, Middleton; Judy Chute (Walter), Granville Ferry; Sharon (Douglas) Wade, Granville Ferry; Darlene (Paul) Smith, Young’s Cove; Shelly Hudson (Troy) Lequille; sister Vera Hashem Windsor; brother-in-law Leroy (Marge), Parker’s Cove; sister-in-law Hazel (William) Nordic, Kitchener Ont.; 8 grand children; 14 great grand children; and 1 great great grandchild; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by the love of her life of 71 years Percy Hudson, her beloved sons, Richard “Ricky”; William “Henry”; her much loved mother Madonna Gregory; brother Cecil “Merlin” (Barbara) Gregory; father and mother in-law Lewis and Annie Hudson; sister-in-law Ethel (Gordon) Covert; brother’s in-law William; Raymond (Mona); Delma (Vivian); Deward (June).
Visitation will be held Monday July 17, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal and where funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Brook Cemetery, Parkers Cove. A special thank you to all the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for the exceptional care and friendships she received.
