Obituary of Carmen Ernest Stanton

Stanton, Carmen Ernest, 89 of Port Wade passed away Saturday April 8, 2017 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on Digby Neck he was a son of the late Burrell and Lottie ( Hersey) Stanton. Carmen was a fisherman and boat builder but was best known as the “Clam Man”. He loved his candy and ice cream. He especially enjoyed telling stories and would bend the ear of anyone who would listen. He is survived by sons: David and Chuck both of Port Wade; daughters: Marilyn (Larry) Rhyno of Bridgetown, Heather Wade of Granville Ferry, Tammy (Charlie) Stewart of Annapolis Royal, daughter-in-law Diane Statnton of Digby Co.; 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie Aldora, son Ernest, sister Reta, one grandson and one great grandson Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday both in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Dr. Randy Legassie officiating. Interment will follow in the Port Wade Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be sent to the Palliative Care Unit at the Annapolis Community Health Centre or to a charity of one’s choice.
