Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Sheahan

Sheahan, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” – age 91, passed away February 6, 2017, in Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Born August 15, 1925 at Annapolis Royal, NS to the late Douglas and Maude Wear. She was the baby to six brothers, Harry, George, Walter, Daniel, Louis, and Ford, and three sisters, Molly, Clara and Dot, all predeceased. Betty was devoted to her family and friends, and loved talking about growing up in Annapolis Royal, Springhill and Folly Lake.
Betty worked in Barrie, Ontario as a secretary for a car dealership and Tampax Canada. While in Ontario, she met her partner, Danny Sheahan. She retired in 1991 and moved to Deep Brook, with Danny. They enjoyed their time there with family, Terry Wear, and his wife Bonnie, who were like her son and daughter. She moved to Cornwallis Park, followed by the last three years at Blomidon Court in Greenwich.
Survived by nephews and nieces, Douglas Wear (Shirley), Brian Wear (Nancy), Dale Wear (Marlene), Brenton Wear (Trish), Pam Amirault (Norman), numerous grand nieces and nephews, their children and many friends. Predeceased by her husband, Danny; brothers and sisters; nephews, Butch Wear, Terry (Bonnie) Wear.
An upbeat, generous, kind friend, Betty enjoyed travels in Canada, United States and Europe. As well as taking pictures, time with pet cats and dogs, knitting, playing 45’s, making wine, drinking tea, and spending time with friends and family.
At Betty’s request, cremation has taken place under the care and direction for the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, and a graveside interment will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Blomidon Court for the special care given to Betty over the past three years. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the TLC Animal Shelter in Digby.
