Obituary of Marion Esther Long

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marion Esther Long Age 87, of Clementsport. We are saddened to announce her passing on January 15, 2017, in Lawrencetown with her family by her side. Born in Waldec, she was the daughter of the late Odbur and Lena (Ring) Dukeshire. Marion was the last surviving sibling of her family. A beloved wife, mother, grand-mother and great grand-mother, Marion devoted her entire life to her family, especially her daughter Teresa whom she gave the upmost love and care too. She was a member of the Clementsvale United Baptist Church and also the Clementsvale Friendly Club. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting and playing cards. She never missed a family member’s birthday, always ensuring each and every one received a gift on time. Mom was loved by so many and will be sadly missed by everyone. Marion is survived by husband, Thane Long; son Joey Long (Darlene) Lawrencetown; daughters Janice Deveau (Gary) Clementsport; and Teresa Long at home; grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Brian and Joey; great-grandchildren Juliette, Lola and Rayna. She was predeceased by sister, Marjorie Saari; brothers, Roy Dukeshire and Ronald Dukeshire. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal, where visitation will be held 7-9pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017, in Clementsvale Baptist Church, Clementsvale, with Rev. Dr. Randy Legassie officiating. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Ken Buchholz, and also the VON who spent countless hours helping out with Mom’s care. A very special thank you to daughter-in-law Darlene for all the love and special care she provided during our mother’s last few months. Donations in memory may be sent to Clementsvale Baptist Church, the VON or the Red Cross. Family flowers only. Online condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
