Nancy and I send our sincere sympathy to all the family. James's home-call is a great loss to you all and a great loss to the work of the Lord as well. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. I hope the Lord comforts your hearts with the reminder that when our beloved Lord Jesus returns, the words of the hymn will have their wonderful fulfillment: "Some from Earth, from Glory some, severed only 'till He come.'"

Dear Mrs. McClelland: Ruth and I express our sympathy to you and all of your family. I had the great honour and privilege of speaking with James in a gospel series at Westbank BC in April of 2010. This was our one and only series together and I personally found it a great delight to preach with James.
I have met your daughter Ruth and Eddie on a number of occasions when being on the west coast. The most recent visit at the Vancouver Fall conference.
May each of you personally know the nearness of our loving Father and the closeness of fellowship of all the saints of God.

Dear Amy and family. Our prayers are with you at this time of griefing. James has no grief or pain but only joy with the one he loved so dearly. He will be greatly missed by all but no one more than the family. We had hoped to be with you this afternoon but with the weather people calling for a lot of snow this afternoon we thought it best to stay put. We hope to pick up the livestream this afternoon. It is with deep sadness that we wish to pass our word of sympathy. He has fought the good fight & is now in the presence of his loving Saviour who never failed dear Mr McClelland!
He will be missed but remember that he is where his heart longed to be for a long time! And when your heart is heavy & you would wish (we are human after all) for his presence, his warm smile.... you will remember that he would return to the sickness and pain! And then, you will find peace that he is well now.
We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers for the next few days, weeks & months.

I have known James a long time.In 1988 I attended meetings in Port Bickerton held by James and Peter Orasuk. They stayed at my parents (Vaughan and Eileen Boutilier) home. I came to know Christ as my Saviour during those meetings. We shared a lot of stories and a lot of laughs during those weeks. James was one of the most caring and wise people I've ever met. When Mom and Dad died he came to offer his support right away.I don't know how we would have gotten through those early days without him.He was a treasure....My deepest Sympathy to Amy and his family,he will be missed by all.
