Obituary of Donald Julian Lowe
Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lowe, Donald Julian – Bridgetown formerly of Clementsport. Heaven has its hands full with the arrival of Donald J. Lowe, who landed at the pearly gates on Thursday, July 21st, 2016. “Dumpy’s”unique character was always a force to be reckoned with leaving behind a family saga of memories. The adventures began 85 years ago in Clementsvale, NS. Since then, Don’s life had read like a storybook and those closest to him can talk endlessly about time spent with him, whether it be working, flying, boating or travelling. Don started a family construction business, in which he was active for over 50 years. His success and passion for business was only ever surpassed by his love and generosity for family and friends (and the occasional stranger). Don leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Jean (Lent); two sons who followed in his footsteps in the family business, David (Katherine) and Michael (Linda) and two daughters, Lisa (Brian) and Pamela (Brian). The grandchildren, Daniel, Alex, Rachel, Eric and Laura are left with memories of many unbelievable pranks played over the years. Don is predeceased by infant daughter Roxanne; parents Amy (Cress) and Ernest Lowe, and siblings, Henry, Aubrey, Trueman, Howard, Maurice, Ruby and Marjorie. He is survived by his sister Dorothy (Laurie) Hawboldt of Bedford. With one of the strongest personalities, there is certainly less excitement in the world without Don. This boulder liftin’, rock tossin’, runnin’ son-of-a-gun is sure to shake things up at the next level. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Sunday evening from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 PM from the Clementsvale Baptist Church, Clementsvale with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Reception to follow service at the Clementsport Legion followed by interment at Stoney Beach Cemetery, Granville Beach. Donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Mountain Lea Lodge. On-line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
