Obituary of Vivian Margaret Raymond

Raymond, Vivian Margaret – Today June 29, 2016 our Mum, Vivian Raymond, passed peacefully from this life into eternal life. Born in Rossway to Charles and Ina (White) Gidney on July 22, 1912. She lived most of her life in Gulliver’s Cove married to Nelson Raymond. Worked in fish factories in Centreville and Digby until she was in her early 70’s. She loved gardening and kept her property looking sharp. Her love of animals found her sitting in the mall raising money for the animal shelter. Mum leaves behind her sons, Ralph Raymond (Patsy), Munster, Ontario; Leigh Raymond (Margaret) Kemptville, Ontario; Brian Raymond, Gulliver’s Cove; and daughters, Shirley Knox, St. John, New Brunswick; Joan McConnell, Belleville, Ontario; Barbara Gauthier (Bob), Bear River; Sandra Stone (Terry) Weymouth. She is survived by sister, Alva Thibault, North Range. Fourteen grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by our Dad, Nelson Raymond, our sister Sherry Raymond, two granddaughters and two grandsons; her brothers, Loren, Ray, and John; and sisters, Vira, Vera, Elizabeth. We are very thankful for the wonderful care that Mum received at Digby General Hospital, Villa Acadienne, and Tideview Terrace. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. A family celebration of her life will be held Sunday, July 3rd from Rossway United Baptist Church where she will be laid to rest with our Dad and sister. Pastor Linda DeMone will officiate.
