CAREY, Shirley Margaret 83, of Cornwallis Park, Annapolis Co., died peacefully on Sunday June 5 2016, in Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. Born in Lakeport, Ontario on Jan 30, 1933, Shirley was married to John (deceased) and followed him around the country as he pursued his career. Wherever she called home, Shirley was always active in her church and community. She was a loving mother who also worked for many years as a Registered Nurse and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for more than 50 years. Shirley’s house was always a place of great hospitality where she enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She became an avid bridge player and found people to enjoy the game wherever she went. She is survived by her 5 children: daughters, Anne Marie (Joe) Greaves, Tisdale, SK and Eileen Carey, Halifax; sons, Tom (Mona) Carey, Brandon, MB; Pat (Tracy) Carey, Quispamsis, NB and Mike (Christine) Carey, Waterdown, ON. Shirley is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Visitation will take place Thursday 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m. in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. in St. Louis Church, Annapolis Royal, followed by a reception. Father John MacPherson officiating. Private interment.
