Phoenix, Gregory Paul – 68, passed away suddenly at his home on May 31, 2016 in Bridgetown, NS. He was born on September 2, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario, to the late Earl and Frances (Doyle) Phoenix. Greg was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. His favourite audience was his grandchildren. Greg was fond of meeting new people and spending time with them, but above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. We have learned a lot of valuable lessons from Greg (Papa), the most important being "I’m only one man" one of his wise statements that he made making a lasting impact on many people, with his larger than life, kind heart. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Betty (Misener) Phoenix; his three children, Dorothy (Kevin) Winterburn, Earl (Betty) Phoenix, Greg (Rhonda) Phoenix, all of Ontario; grandchildren, Hayley, Owen, Kayla, David, Victoria, William, Josh, Laura, Olivia and Whitney. He will also be missed dearly by special friends Mike and Marie Conway, by his brother, John Phoenix; (Terry predeceased) sisters, Candice (Michael) Jackson, Debbie (Richard) Gills; Sisters in-law, Irene (Ernie), Diane, Margie (Robert) and Sandra; Brothers in-law, Sydney; Ricky (predeceased) and many nieces and nephews; family pets Brook and Cali will miss their Papa. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown, NS. A celebration of Greg’s life will take place at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army or to a children’s charity or your choice.
