Obituary of Nathalie Ann Harlow

Please share a memory of Nathalie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nathalie Ann HARLOW (nee Hogan), 87, of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016. Born in Lynn, Mass. on Nov 25, 1928, the daughter of the late Albion and Helen (Bent) Hogan. Nathalie met the love of her life, Danny, at a Hampton dance and spent a rich life in Bridgetown. She was a graceful, thoughtful and industrious woman, raising her family, starting and operating a successful business with her husband, and volunteering countless hours in her community which she loved dearly. She had many friends and enjoyed rug hooking, playing Bridge, curling, book club, traveling, all sports, and was an ardent New England Patriots fan. While raising five children, Nathalie found the time to volunteer in many ways. A member of St. James Anglican Church, she has served on its Altar Guild for 20 years, assisted with Sunday School and choir activities. She was a founding member of the Bridgetown and Area Historical Society, canvassed for the Canadian Cancer Society, served on the Bridgetown Regional Elementary School Advisory Council, receptionist for the VON foot clinic, president of the Bridgetown Ladies Curling Club, a member of TIANS and a founding member of Evangeline Trail Tourism Association. She was also a founding member of the Atlantic Association of Women Business Owners (AAWBO) and was honoured as a NS Volunteer of the Year for 2009. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Daniel, daughter Ann Louise and brother David. Nathalie is survived by her children Jane, of Halifax, Tim, Annapolis Royal, Amy (Blake) Dewhirst, Tupperville and Lisa (Max) Fossum of Black Creek, BC. She will be sorely missed by grandchildren Jessica, Jack, Ben, Alex, Mitchell, Chris, Caitlin, Jameen, Adriene and Graham, as well as her great grandsons, Keir and Finley. Visitation will be at Kaulbach Funeral Home, Bridgetown on Wednesday, April 27th from 7 pm to 9pm. Funeral service will be held at St James Anglican Church at 1pm on Thursday, April 28th with Rev. Joel Hardy officiating. Burial will be in St. James Anglican Cemetery.
