Isles, Clara Lorna – Age 83, Annapolis Royal, formerly of Clementsvale, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, where she resided in the recent months. Born July 23, 1932 in Clementsvale, she was the youngest child of Arthur and Florence (Early) Potter. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, babysitter and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She retired after 19 years being employed at CFB Cornwallis Food Service ad a kitchen helper of which she had many happy memories. She was a skilled seamstress, knitter and quilter who always enjoyed keeping her hands busy turning out many homemade quilts, mittens and socks for her family and charity, especially the 50 pairs of mittens she knitted each year for Christmas Daddies. She enjoyed listening and dancing to country music, Card parties, Jam sessions and attending benefits at the Forresters Hall, in Clementsvale, as long as her health permitted. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she told how much she loved them even on her last day of life. She had a love of cats and never turned away the strays who turned up on her doorstep for a free meal or shelter from the cold. She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine (Barry) Frail, Clementsport, Susan Isles (Glen Lincoln), Calgary, Alberta; sons, Steven, Clementsvale; daughter in-law, Fay, Digby; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brother, Roy (Aileen) Potter, Annapolis Royal Nursing Home; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; son, Stanley; daughter in-law, Brenda; grandson, Nathan; sisters, Edna, Marie and Lillian; brother, Wilfred. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal where visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Friday April 16.
